It was wonderful to see so many people getting involved, each adding their own touch of orange in solidarity with the families affected by Batten disease. Batten disease is a **rare, inherited neurological condition** that primarily affects children. The condition causes progressive damage to the nervous system, leading to a decline in a child's ability to walk, talk, see and communicate, and currently there is **no cure**. The impact on affected children and their families is profound, making awareness, support and ongoing research more important than ever. The **Batten Disease Family Association (BDFA)** provides invaluable support to families navigating the challenges of the condition. Alongside offering practical advice and emotional support, the charity also works tirelessly to raise awareness and fund research that could one day lead to improved treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
