Celebrating a Remarkable Milestone for Sir Bob Murray CBE
We're incredibly proud to share that our Chairman, Sir Bob Murray CBE, has been honoured with not one but two further honorary doctorates, recognising his extraordinary impact on business, community and education.
In December 2025, Sir Bob was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Civil Law by Northumbria University, a tribute to his leadership, vision and lifelong dedication to opening doors for others, from business excellence to community enrichment.
Then, in January 2026, he recieved yet another honorary doctorate from Durham University, Doctor of Letters, further acknowledging his influence and the values he has championed throughout his career.
Sir Bob's journey from humble beginnings in the North East, to founding Omega Kitchens and building the UK's most respected family-run kitchen manufacturers is about resilience, purpose and giving back. His work with the Foundation of Light, commitment to education, and belief in opportunity for all embodies the principles in place here at Omega.
