About The Business

Could you tell us a bit about your showroom, where you’re based, and what inspired you to start Olive Kitchens?

My wife and I launched Olive Kitchens four years ago as a sample-based business, bringing a carefully selected range of doors and finishes directly to client’s homes. It worked well, but it had its limits. Especially when customers were unsure of their vision and we could only carry so many samples. The main reason for starting Olive Kitchens was the frustration of a disconnect between design, suppliers, and installation. Having our own business means we consolidate all of the separate elements. It also allowed us to pool years over 35 years of industry experience into one business.

Showroom & Projects

Could you tell us about a recent project you're especially proud of? What do you enjoy most about helping customers design their kitchens?

We’d looked at potential showroom spaces before, but none matched the character or layout we had in mind. When our current shop in Ipswich became available, it immediately felt right. It sits on a great street full of independent retailers and, while the footprint isn’t huge, it’s perfect for showcasing our Omega kitchens.

The building our showroom is situated in guided our design choices for the display. As a listed property with centuries of history, it came with certain restrictions. We’ve made the most of the tall ceilings and generous front window, creating a display with extra-tall units and a traditional cornice detail that draws people in from the street.

Current projects, there are two that transformed the customers kitchens - ‘Lovelands’ & ‘Ison’. One is large, one is small, but they completely change the space. We love working with customers to overcome issues and when a kitchen isn’t working for them. Both these kitchens resulted in the kitchen becoming the heart of the home again.

How long have you been working with Omega?

What do you value most about your partnership with Omega?

Do you have a favourite Omega range, door style, or finish?

How does Omega support your business and your customers?

We have been working with Omega for 4 years.

It’s great that Omega is so approachable and the quality of the product is aligned with our business. We can meet the price point of most projects whilst still knowing the quality isn’t being compromised.

Our favourite range / colour must be the Serenity Dune. We chose this for our display, and it looks great! We’ve had several customers switch to Dune from other colours as soon as they see the display, it really brings people in.

The Omega team is always available when we need them, and the support from Alex our rep is brilliant, any questions are answered without delay and the knowledge of the product is second to none. Having the option for customers to visit the factory showroom is such a great tool too. Even with it being a 3-hour drive for our customers. They always return with plenty of ideas and assurance that the kitchen they’re purchasing is of the highest standard and know where it’s made. With the factory showroom having so many displays it means the customers get to see everything Omega offers.

Looking Ahead

What are you most looking forward to in the year ahead for your business, any exciting projects or plans you'd like to share with our followers?

Going forward for the year, were really excited to grow into our new showroom (opened August 2025). It allows us to showcase the quality of our kitchen and has been the natural progression for the business. We have two exciting projects to start 2026, ‘Birds’ which is a Novus project and ‘The Firs’ which is a Mackintosh kitchen with some custom panels to make an open pantry area. We can’t wait for these designs to be made in to reality!

Final Thoughts

Is there anything else you'd like our audience to know about your showroom or your team?

Olive Kitchens is a true family business, and we have a small team. Ian, or installer is customer facing most of the time as he is working in customers homes. His attention to detail is crucial to making the kitchens look great! Our team of subcontractors also allow us to complete every project as smoothly as possible and never fail to deliver.
