Shaker Doors – Modern

The modern shaker offer timeless and versatility with clean lines, framed construction, smooth or grained for that understated elegance. The rails and styles framing the centre panel on the door tend to be thinner than that used on the more traditional shaker door, and some having raised centre panels.

The shaker kitchen door is full of character, combining natural materials with subtle detailing and can be found available across our rigid, handleless & Ready to assemble kitchens.

Shaker Door – Traditional

A traditional Shaker kitchen door is defined by a few key characteristics:

The five-piece construction is the most fundamental element: a flat central panel held within a frame made of two vertical stiles and two horizontal rails. The panel sits in a groove and is intentionally left to "float". This can be framed with a beaded detail to add an extra layer to the door.

Proportions matter too. The rails and stiles are typically consistent in width, and wider than that of a modern shaker, giving the door a balanced, geometric look. The inner edge where the frame meets the panel is usually a very slight step down

These tend to have painted finish in traditional paint colours to add longevity to the kitchen and homeliness.
